Reflection on religion in school

Chanei Moe
Computer Class/Humanities

The debate over whether religion should be able to be expressed in school.

In my opinion religion should be taught in school, for the simple fact that evolution is taught in science class and there is a religion that is based on evolution. Scientology is a religion that focuses around the Darwin theory. So when we are taught the theory of evolution it is actually a religion in some ways and is going against the first amendment and violating our rights.

"Public schools can neither foster religion nor preclude it. Our public schools must treat religion with fairness and respect and vigorously protect religious expression as well as the freedom of conscience of all other students. In so doing our public schools reaffirm the First Amendment and enrich the lives of their students". Secretary of Education Richard W. Riley June 1998
